Has anyone tried anti-depressants for bipolar depression? What happened?

I took Lithium for a while, but it never did much for me.
I take Lexapro, and and add on, just recently, Seroquel, wow, it’s terrific. Go to both Seroquel.com and lexapro.com.
Lexapro is really good for me, cos I get very nervous/anxious and panicky. I am the only Bipolar 2 I know that has anxiety/panic issues.
Seroquel is FOR the highs and lows and maintence of Bipolar.

So many people say they hate it cos it makes them sleep forever.
NO med should do that to you, you are supposed to be living your life, not sleeping it away.
I am on 25mg, 3-4 times a day.

I’m 32- type two BP. I was misdiagnosed as typical depression, and prescibbed citalopram..it made me experiance full blown mania, and I ended up crashing my car aqnd spent 5 days in the psyc. ward.. it was awful.. next , I was put on clonazepam, for anxiety, and Divalproex, to controll the mania.. after things levelled out , i still had the depression, so my doctor suggested Bupropion. or, brand name Wellbutrin..after a few weeks, it worked..it really lifted the depression, with few side effects-the biggest being insomnia, which was remedied by taking my clonazepam dose before bed..after a while, the insomnia went away.. Buproprion is a relatively “weak” anti-deprss., maybe research it and try it..it worked for me!
October 16th, 2009 at 12:44 amUw Bipolaire vraag beantwoorden, wordt eigenlijk freuquently behandeld met kalmeringsmiddelen, hoewel sommige artsen hen voorschrijven (zoals met vele gevallen met geestelijke ziekte en medicijnen, is het een controversieel onderwerp typisch) niet. Het gevaar komt in Bipolair behandelen met SLECHTS kalmerend. Als dit het geval is, kunnen de kalmeringsmiddelen manic episoden teweegbrengen. Vele Bipolaire gevallen worden behandeld met een COMBINATIE kalmeringsmiddelen en stemmingsstabilisatoren, en dat is de sleutel. Voorgeschreven de kalmeringsmiddelen zijn het vaakst SSRIs (Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, enz.) of soms MAOIs (Phenelzine, Selegiline, Iproclozide, enz.). Stabilisatoren van de stemming zouden het Lithium en Lamictil zijn.
Als u belangrijke problemen met uw depressie hebt zou u ABSOLUUT aan uw arts over het moeten spreken. Is dicht te controleren terwijl het nemen van hen, en slechts hen te nemen MET de stemmingsstabilisatoren. Goed geluk.
(En Vernazza, voor het geval dat u dit leest. Om u enkel te laten het weten, u aren' alleen t, vele mensen met Bipolair heeft bezorgdheid/paniek ook problemen.
